Other Important information: Colorado requires drivers, front-seat passengers, children between 4 and 15, as well as occupants of a vehicle driven by persons under 17, to wear seat belts. History: The Chicago-Colorado Colony, founders of Longmont, were originally invited to join the Union Colony in Greeley. But the pioneers traveled to Utah, met with Mormon leader Brigham Young and then returned to Colorado, buying 50,000 acres in the are of Left Hand, Boulder, St. Vrain and Little Thompson creeks. They picked a bluff east of Longs Peak for the town site and named the town after the peak in 1870. |
